Stress Echocardiography

A stress echocardiogram combines a complete echocardiogram with a treadmill test to compare heart pumping function before and immediately after exercise.

Continuous monitoring

The treadmill portion includes EKG, blood pressure, and oxygen monitoring throughout so the care team can watch your heart's response.

Gradual intensity increase

The treadmill starts as a slow walk and increases in incline and speed at set intervals — the care team will tell you when to stop.

Echo before and after

Echocardiogram images are taken at rest and immediately after exercise to compare how your heart pumps under stress versus at rest.
